Structure Decks (1/5)

Hi guys! Pérez ready to duel! This is my first REAL Yu-Gi-Oh! post. This week I registered for the online Yu-Gi-Oh! webpage, Dueling Network. I registered with the purpose of trying out new archetypes, but it was a complete failure... I tried making a Dinosaur-type deck and a Watt-type deck, but both of 'em crashed-and-burned. So Danny got really mad at me because he has been sending me some videos on how to build decks, but I don't understand the dude from the video (he has the weirdest accent ever!). So I decided to make structure decks in the game. The purpose of this post is to tell you about those structure decks. So here we go!
Fisrt of all, according to the Yu-Gi-Oh! wikia, there are 19 structure decks in the TCG (there are more in the OCG). So for now I've been trying for a whole week 4 structure decks:
-Lord of Storms
-Dinosaur's Rage
-The Dark Emperor and
-Marik

SD8: LORD OF THE STORMS
Well, this deck is based on wind cards (my favorite attribute), mostly of the Harpie's Archetype. The purpose of this deck is to affect your opponent's Spell/Trap area.
This is the deck's slogan:
"Blow the competition away with the 8th Structure Deck for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME! Storm the playing field with powerful WIND monsters, including the infamous Harpie Ladies, and strike your opponent with awesome combos. "Lord of the Storm" is ready to play right out of the box and is great for new Duelists as well as experienced players. Each Deck contains 40 cards, including an all-new Ultra Rare monster, a rulebook, and a Dueling Guide to help Duelists improve the Deck and their game! "
It is a really good deck, but Danny told me that harpies are now useless. He says that I should try Blackwings instead... A curious thing, is that in my first duel with this deck, I battled a Gusto-deck. I really liked how the Gustos worked. The dude kept summoning those monsters, and at the end he beat me.

SD9: DINOSAUR'S RAGE
Ahhh... Dinosaurs... My favorite archetype. I really like dinosaurs because they play based mostly on brute force, perfect for my strategies. My favorite strategy is to attack you and take as many Life Points as possible. Danny says that dinosaur decks are useless, he prefers other strategies... >:/
In one battle with Judini, I "won" him by deck-out (he had no more cards to draw) thanks to my Sauropod Brachion. It has a defense of 3000, and Judini's strongest monster had and attack of 3000. Well, we didn't finish the match because Judini's laptop died. He only had 14 cards in his deck, while I had 21. :P
I know the Sauropod Brachion isn't part of the structure deck, but I replaced a few cards of the deck due to thier uselessness.
The point of this deck is to use brute force against your opponents, a pretty aggressive deck.

The deck's slogan:
"Unleash the power from the past with this new Structure Deck! Duel like Tyranno Hassleberry from Yu-Gi-Oh! GX with ferocious Dinosaur monsters and new Spell and Trap Cards that will stomp your opponents into the stone age!
Dinosaur’s Rage contains 8 new cards, including the Ultra Rare "Super Conductor Tyranno". Each 40 card Deck is ready to play, perfect for new Duelists, and contains a rulebook and a Dueling Guide to help players master its strategies."
It is a pretty aggressive deck, but Danny prefers effects and things like that...

SD: THE DARK EMPEROR
A reall really good deck. Its srategy is to remove from play as many cards as possible. Judini HATES this deck because his Malefic (or Dragunity, I don't remember which one is it) depends on its graveyard, and this deck sends all cards out of play instead of the graveyard. People, Danny just told me that Judini's deck isn't a Malefic nor a Dragunity. Judini calls it "Draconic"... WTF?!
I made this deck by accident because I was pretty bummed because my other decks (except Marik's) where not giving the results I wanted, so I searched for more structure decks and made this one because I liked its name. I made it, and BAM! I won Judini 6200 to 500 (he admitted defeat). He summoned this two pretty strong dragons, but I attacked them with two D.D. cards (I don't remember which ones) and even though I lost life points., I removed from play those dragons (the 1800 LP that I lost were because of those two attacks) :D Judini afterwards got really angry and made me a flawless win, but still, I liked the deck.
Danny thinks that this type of decks may be suitable for me because I told him that I understood the deck right away, unlike the other two above.

"The Dark Emperor is the TCG version of the OCG Structure Deck, Structure Deck 14: Advent of the Emperor, although only one monarch is included and the deck heavily prioritizes Removed from Play effects."

SD: MARIK
Marik is one of the best villains of all the Yu-Gi-Oh! world. His structure deck is a really good way to learn how to use Gravekeepers. Before I won Judini fot the first time, this was the deck that had reduced Judini's LP the most. This deck's strategy is mostly to affect your opponent's monsters, by changing their positions, destroying them, sending them to their owner's hand, etc. Judni told me that a gravekeeper deck is good against a zombie deck. Danny hasn't told me anything of this one, but he once told me that this is a pretty decent deck, but that was weeks before I joined Dueling Network.

"From the deserts of Ancient Egypt to the streets of Battle City, Structure Deck: Marik unites the incredible forces of the Tomb Keepers and Rare Hunters into a single Deck, modeled after Marik’s Deck from the original Yu-Gi-Oh! animated series. Structure Deck: Marik includes a 40-card, tournament legal Deck with cards like Lava Golem, Gil Garth, Legendary Fiend, Metal Reflect Slime, and Mirror Force! It also comes with a full assortment of Gravekeeper’s monsters, protecting the treasures of the Kings of Egypt!
As a special bonus, Structure Deck: Marik also includes 2 additional Ultra Rare cards: Temple of the Kings and Mystical Beast of Serket. These cards – used by Odion while he impersonated Marik in the Battle City finals – bring the total of this Structure Deck to 42 cards. (Please note: Temple of the Kings is a Forbidden card for Advanced Format tournament play, but this is your chance to get it for your collection and you can still use it in casual Duels with your friends, or for Traditional Format events!)

And don’t forget that Marik’s most famous monster, The Winged Dragon of Ra, is available simultaneously in Legendary Collection! Whether you’re an old-time Battle City fan, or you’re discovering the legacy of the Pharaohs for the first time, now you can wield the power of Marik for yourself!"

Well, those are the four structure decks I've tried so far. My conclusion of these four structure decks is that even though dinosaurs are my favorite archetype and wind is my favorite attribute, I played better with the gravekeeper archetype and the dark attribute. Strange isn't it?
See you next time!
